Overview
Sayly (“Sayly,” “we,” “us”) is a Chrome extension that suggests reply drafts for WhatsApp Web, LinkedIn messaging, Instagram DMs, and X. This policy explains what data is accessed, processed, and stored when you use the product.
We do not store your chat messages in our database. Conversation text is used only to generate reply suggestions for that request, then discarded by Sayly. We do not keep transcripts for training, analytics, advertising, or later review.
What the extension accesses on messaging sites
On supported sites (WhatsApp Web, LinkedIn, Instagram, and X), a content script runs in the page so Sayly can:
- Detect whether a conversation is open and read recent visible messages from the open chat UI (enough context to draft a reply).
- Read text already typed in the message composer when relevant (for example, to improve a draft).
- Insert a suggested reply into the composer when you choose Insert — never send the message for you.
- Show the Sayly button and side panel / popup UI on those pages.
Sayly does not access your passwords, does not take over your account, and does not read your entire chat history beyond recent messages needed for a generation request.
What we process when you generate a reply
- When you generate (or Pro auto-suggest runs), the extension sends recent conversation messages, your selected relationship / goal / tone / language, and optional Pro custom prompt or style to the Sayly backend at https://sayly.vercel.app/.
- The backend uses that context with an AI provider (currently Google Gemini) to produce reply suggestions for that request only.
- Sayly does not write chat message text or generated reply text into our application database after the response is returned.
Account and usage data we store
- Account: Google sign-in profile information needed to identify you (such as name, email, and Google user id), plus your plan (Free or Pro) and billing identifiers from Razorpay when you subscribe.
- Usage: a daily count of how many generations you used (to enforce Free limits) — not the content of those generations.
- Local preferences: defaults and per-chat / per-platform settings are stored in your browser via Chrome storage on your device.
Third-party services
- Google Sign-In / OAuth — to authenticate your account.
- Google Gemini — to generate reply suggestions from the conversation context you submit for that request.
- Razorpay — to process Pro subscriptions and billing (including UPI and cards).
- Hosting / database providers — to run the Sayly website, API, and store account/usage records (not chat transcripts).
Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Message context sent for generation may be processed by the AI provider solely to fulfill that request.
What we do not do
- We do not store chat transcripts or generated replies in our database.
- We do not auto-send messages on your behalf.
- We do not sell your personal data or conversation content.
- We do not use your chats to train a Sayly-owned model.
- We do not require your messaging-app passwords.
Your choices
You can stop using the extension, uninstall it from Chrome, sign out, or manage/cancel Pro billing from your account page. Uninstalling removes the extension from your browser; local settings stored by Chrome may be cleared when the extension is removed.
